The short version
There is no single database.
There is no single national database of a person’s life, whatever a twenty-dollar website implies. Criminal history is held county by county. Civil history is held court by court. Property, entities, liens and judgments are recorded where the transaction happened. A real search follows the person through every jurisdiction they have lived and operated in, which is why it costs more than a website and why it finds what a website misses.
Start with a Social Security verification. It is the cheapest thing here and it decides where everything else has to look, including the other names a person has been using.
Everything in this category is records work, which means it is fast, it is invisible to the subject, and it is the cheapest thing on this site. It is also where most larger investigations should start.
