Missing Persons & Runaways, in plain terms.
Most people who disappear come back. A small number do not, and the difference between the two is usually the first seventy-two hours and how hard somebody worked them. If a child is missing, call the police first, before you call us. We will work with them, and we will say so.
Beyond the emergency there is a second kind of case that never makes the news: a brother nobody has heard from in nine years, a father who left before anyone can remember, a birth parent. Those are records cases as much as fieldwork, and they are some of the most satisfying work the agency does.
The work
What actually gets done.
- Build a full profile: last contact, last address, vehicles, phones, employers, associates, habits.
- Work the records - addresses, utilities, employment, licenses, property, court filings.
- Interview family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and anyone else who saw them last.
- Canvass the physical locations that matter and pursue local leads.
- Coordinate with the law enforcement agency holding the report rather than working across it.
- Approach carefully when the person is found, because an adult who chose to leave has the right to stay gone.

An observation nobody wrote down at the time is a memory. Every hour is logged as it happens, with times and locations, including the hours where nothing occurred.

About this service.
Should I call the police or a private investigator?
Both, and the police first if the person is a child, is vulnerable, or you believe they are in danger. Law enforcement has powers we do not. What we add is time and attention on a single case.
What if you find them and they do not want contact?
Then that is what we report to you. An adult is entitled to their privacy, and we will not put you in front of somebody who has said no. We can usually pass on that you were looking.
How old is too old for a case?
Old cases are harder, not impossible. Records outlast people’s memories, and a trail that went cold in 1994 may have been left in documents that still exist.
Is the first conversation really free?
Yes, and it is confidential. You describe the situation, we tell you whether an investigation is likely to help, roughly what it would involve and what it would cost. There is no charge for that call and no obligation at the end of it.
